Hi, I am Marco
I work as a project manager, am a parent, and live abroad as an expat in Rome, Italy.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn’t in the plans for the long haul. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — fresh processes, new schedules, unfamiliar expectations. Daily chores seemed more challenging than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt stable.
Why I Built Studio Haven Quartz
Much of the information online leaned toward corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a frank, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Real-world experience from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A sponsored-review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Italy goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I will continue documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Marco
